How long can a bad candida infection last?
I would like to find out how long a severely embedded candida infection can take to get over.
A year ago, I struggled with an intestinal infection so bad I had a black tongue and severe pain every time I ate. When I was 16, I took 3 years of
Antibiotic therapy to get over Lyme Disease (which I'm still trying to recover from).
I have been treating it for the past year and a half with Multizyme and Zymex II, two powerful Standard Process enzymes targeted to kill microbes in the body. They made me really sick at first with herxing, but they did wonders killing off the bad bacteria. My tongue finally returned to normal colors! Those supplements are my life saver killing Lyme and Candida.
About a month ago, I changed my diet radically to kill off all candida in my body. I am following the Body Ecology diet, complete with cultured veggies and lots of soups.
I felt simply awful at the beginning of the month, but now it's leveling off just a little. I feel somewhat more myself, although I still struggle with brain fog and headaches and bloating when I am taking anti-candida supplements. I have periods of strong anxiety and powerful fatigue that seem to alternate.
Is it possible to still be getting rid of the candida in my body? Coconut oil still gives me herx reactions with nausea, headaches, jaundice, and anxiety attacks. Sometimes I feel as if I am choking with air hunger. My
FIR (Far-Infrared-Sauna) sauna does wonders with all these symptoms, and i feel much better when I come out.
I am highly functioning, going to school full time, working teaching piano, and even doing the a scholarship pageant this summer. But if I don't sit in my sauna during anti-candida treatment, I feel rotten. My gas and bloating and herxing go out of control
What I want to know is if we are on the right track or not with this anti-candida treatment. Is it possible to struggle with this Candida for so long? When it is really entrenched in a body, does it really take years to eradicate?
