The Colour of the Elements
Colour is secondary to shape in Feng Shui.
Wood is green.
Fire is red or purple.
Earth is brown. Yellow is considered to be the 5, Evil Emperor and it is used with extreme care.
Metal is white.
Water is dark blue or black.
Unless you know what stars are in a room, it is best to go with neutral colours. I will also list the colours of the directions. If the colour of the direction is used, then it strengthens that area. For instance, we had 7 Metal energy coming in our front door for the last Period (7) and my door was a pumpkin-earth colour to strengthen that Metal. Now that the good qi is coming in our garden door, I want to diminish the 7 qi a bit. I am going to strengthen the East by painting the door a vibrant lighter green. (I could not bear to have a White Metal-coloured door!, so will strengthen the direction). I will have to see if I can conflict between the Wood Green and the 7 Metal qi -- that will be in the Spring! :) But control means Wealth as well, so it might be a good thing.
