The use of crystals is not traditionally part of the practice of
Feng Shui. This is a new westernized, new age hybrid use of them under the title of Feng Shui. The use of crystals is a practice in itself and not part of Feng Shui.

I would imagine that if crystals hold some kind of magical energy
or power, then you would want to use the actual material. regarding its cost, then I'd say if there is legitmate benefits
to be received then you are worth the cost.
