East/West is a very nice and simplified method of Feng Shui
that allows the Feng Shui enthusiast to benefit from its
harmonizing qualities. I am a practitioner of Classical Feng Shui
and highly reccomend the book "The Principles of Feng Shui"
by Master Larry Sang. He gives very clear direction on East/West
school including our best directions for sleep and work. You can find it on Amazon or from his school's website amfengshui.com

One note on determining "Sitting and Facing":
the front door often can be located independent of its
Facing direction. Back in the ol villages in China, when they
only had one door, then the door always was on the facing side but today with our very modern architecture or for the lucky ones,a home on the lake or ocean, the door can actually be on the side or back (sitting). Hope this was helpful.
