Last minute answers :) Re: Sorry - LAST MINUTE TINCTURE QUESTIONS

I know this is last minute but I've been doing my best to keep up with IP program and do all the research necessary to get the information for making tincures on this new moon. I received a LARGE order today from Mountain Rose to begin making the tinctures.  Sometimes "last minute" is the way it happens!  The day the herbs get to my house, are ALWAYS a good day :)  The colors, the smells, the healing potential ...they're my FAVORITE boxes to get in the mail :)

Glandular Tinc: calls for Lobelia pods and herb- I could only find Lobelia herb.If you got the Lobelia from M/R there are pods in it.  Open the baggies and sift through it, you'll see the little 'podlings' :)
Will the tinc still be AS effective or should I wait to get the pod to make the tinc? There is currently no known source for straight Lobelia pods.  What you have from M/R is the best on the market (of which I know)/  The glandular tincture you have from me is made with Lobelia herb/pods from M/R.

Adrenal Support: can the cayenne in the formula be made with Bird's Eye Chili's (African Bird)?.That's what I use, but I use 1/2 part instead of a full part (see this post
http://curezone.com/forums/fm.asp?i=1404295#i

).  I also use double the mullein, eleuthero & gotu kola...these are the herbs that are most beneficial for the adrenals; the original 'recipe' was 'equal parts of each', but our levels of adrenal stress are at LEAST twice as much as they were when Dr. Christopher formulated this.  :::wink::: I'm sure that's what Dr. Christopher would have wanted us to do :)

Prostate Formula : I can't find Psygeum Bark - is there another name?

It appears you're the victim of a typo/mispelling :::grimace::: It's Pygeum (without the "s") and it's available at M/R

This is the formula from the SYL manual for Prostate tincture:

4 Saw Palmetto Berry

1 Cleavers

1 Nettle root

1 Thuja Leaf

This is the ingredients in his current tincture: Saw Palmetto Berry, Uva Ursi Leaf,
Juniper Berry, Pygeum Bark, Nettle Root and Corn Silk.

Here we go again with the Schulze 'contradictions'...do we use the formula that he used when succesful in his clinic? Or do we use the formula when he created when he was not practicing?  And if we want to use the one that he devised when not practicing, and just selling herbs...we're on our own for the exact formulation, because he no longer publishes them.   My herbal-heart & experience with Schulzes formulas tells me the new formula is likely 4 parts Saw Palmetto, 4 parts Pygeum bark, and equal parts everything else.  In the new formula, the Uva Ursi, Juniper & Cornsilk are for kidney/urinary tract health (not specific to the prostate gland).  In the old formula, the Cleavers & Thuja are VERY beneficial to the prostate directly.  I am making the original formula tonight.  I will order some Pygeum bark, tincture it separately, and add it later. (I hadn't seen his new formula before now - I generally stick to the tried & true formulas rather than the one's he's concocted since being out of practice...so this is the first time I've seen the Pygeum.  I just did a quick search, and it's obviously extremely beneficial for prostatic issues)

Is the Lobelia herb in the Nerve formula tinctured separately in Apple Cider Vinegar or together with the other herbs?I tincture, as does Schulze, the Lobelia in with the Nerve Formula, without using the ACV/Alcohol blend tincture.  How do I know he doesn't use the ACV?  You can ALWAYS taste the ACV.  Besides he doesn't list ACV as an ingredient on his website.

Other Questions:

All tintures can be made 'on the new moon' by soaking the herb whether root, bark, flower, herb, seed, pod, leaf, and cut & sifted in this form for a few days "THEN" mascerating them in the Vitamixer. At this point more alcohol will be added but only to maybe 1/4 part to 'settled herb' for a good strong tinture. After macerating sometimes you need to add a bit more alcohol, sometimes not (depends upon how saturated the original herbs were before you macerated, and if they soak up any more alcohol).  You want the final bottle to settle to "half herbs - half alcohol float".  If you choose to make it stronger, then you want the final bottle to be more herbs than float.  I guarantee you, 1/2 & 1/2 is stronger and more effective than ANYthing on the market today...including Schulzes.

Would a tincture of straight African Bird Chili's be too strong? I can't find Raw Organic Habenero here to make the combination? Ah yes, finding raw organic Habbies is tough.  Straight African Bird Peppers will be a little hotter than our Cayenne #2 tincture...and our Cayenne #1 is hotter than Schulzes.  You could add typical cayenne pepper (40,000-80,000 HU), raw hot peppers of other types, even raw red bell peppers, or you can dilute the final tincture with more alcohol, OR perhaps in a few weeks/months you'll find raw Habbies, be able to tincture them, and then mix it with the tincture you make now.  OR you can just acclimate to the hotter tincture :)  For the record, our Cayenne #1 is 2/3 of a gallon jar of raw Habbies, and 1/2 cup of our Cayenne blend powder.  And sometimes I had a handful of whatever 'red peppers' I have growing in the garden, for addition red color and a little "pepper synergy" :)

Non tincture related I would also like to make the colon cleanse formulas, I'm not in as big a hurry for this obviously but I will need to know where to obtain the best source for the following:

Aloe Leaf - couldn't find this either Not findable that I know of as pure leaf (every site that says "leaf", I've contacted, and it's a blend of leaf & gel :(  M/R aloe is a blend of aloe gel & leaf, so use that, and use an additional 1/2 part of buckthorn or full part of turkey rhubarb to make up for the missing aloe leaf in the aloe from M/R.  See this post:
http://curezone.com/forums/fm.asp?i=1404041#i
Apple Fruit Pectin - available at Starwest or Blessed Herbs, neither is certified organic, but are "wildcrafted" (how do you "wildcraft" apples? the term "wildcrafted is SUCH a scam) - Starwest is Kosher certified as well.  I use Starwest.
Pharmacuitical Grade Bentonite Clay - Hmmm, pharmaceutical grade dirt (lol, I always get a laugh out of that :::grin:::)
I use Calcilite Bentonite here (do NOT use the one from M/R, it's crap): http://www.theholistichorse.com/Detox.shtml

Activated Willow Charcoal Activated charcoal of any kind is fine - the cheapest source on the 'net is here:

Did you get my last email to you from unyquity@pcsia.net? :)

HAPPY TINCTURING!!!
