Some people do experience "sensations" in parts of their body with herpes. However, the best way to know for sure is to get tested. Also, if you had it on your thumb once, it is probably laying dormant in your body still. Some ppl only have one outbreak and believe they are herpes free when, in fact, the virus remains in their body and just has not resurfaced.
