aquarius male and aries female

Ive been with my partner a year,hes great we get on great, but we fight like cat and dog, im no stranger to long term relationships and have never been in a relationship where we argue so much, we really argue BAD, hes very dictoral, BLUNT! things have got to be done his way, hes a bully, far to opinionated, always right, so am i though, hehe.
I know these are aqurian traits, and also Aries traits, not interested in splitting up with him, cause we love eachother soooo much, but the argueing exhausts me, just wondered is it because of our signs clashing?
Must admit I have always found aquarians great friends, and interesting people, never had a relationship with one before.
Any comments, advice would be great, im not perfect, I know, got a evil temper, well never used to!
Just be interesting to hear what some of you guys and gals thing.
