Re: Need y'alls help/support - email Q & A
We’ve all seen healthy meat eater and unhealthy vegetarian and vice versa. You can go into endless debate and find examples and exceptions to either parties. Diet is important, but there’re many other things in life that can compensate for a poor diet; esp. the mind, it can override many poor or less optimal choices. Does that mean I’m going to go and grab a cheese burger; no way in hell! The guilt alone is just going to kill me. Again the MIND at works!
I think he doesn’t want to give up, he really wants to be convinced. The bottom line is you’ve done your job and most importantly if you feel burn out and exhausted, then you’re in no position to assist him any further. You should be honest with him. I’m quite sure he will understand that’s not good for neither one of you. It’s really not fair to leave ALL the burden on you. Come to the forum, cross-post, hear different perspectives, opinions, sounds like that’s something he’ll like.
I know you really want him to try it and get result. I know it’s really tough to let go after spending so much time and trying so hard to convince someone. I know how frustrating it can get, you don’t want to give up on him yet you’re totally exhausted. If his mind (and possibly his body) is not ready for it, so be it. It’s perfectly fine. Maybe it’s not for him; not now; or maybe never. Maybe he’ll find something else that fits. If his heart doesn’t feel right, then chances are it’s not going to work, again the MIND! Whenever he’s ready, he is more than welcomed to join the forum and we’d be more than happy to support him. I totally feel for him when he says he’s a perfectionist and he’s thin and anemic and possibly cold(?). I’m all those things too. (In fact, I’m now going thru a difficult fast…well, it’s actually not that bad other than freezing like a corpse.) It sounds like he has tried many things already (a lot more than me), maybe he can share his bad experiences and we can all learn from him too.
