Something to be considered is the type of EFA that is being absorbed. Many vegetable oils are primarily consisted of omega 6(w-6) oils and the average person has an over abundance of these oils.

I would suggest using an oil that contains more omega three type oils. Salba oil is the best vegetarian source oil for omega 3s, but is too costly to pull with for many people.

A good idea would be to suppliment with the omega 3 early in the morning on an empty stomach, and pull with an oil rich in omega 3s, such as rice bran oil which is fairly inexpensive.
