Hello, I was just wondering what exactly "water fasting" entails (do you break these fasts at any point, or is it continual, do you eat?), and I'm rather concerned about some of your health. After reading a few posts I'm seeing stuff like "14 day fasts" "40 day fasts".
In Islam, we have fasting of food and water, but to go several days without either is generally discouraged. I believe I require a larger proportion of water than most people to even stand British weather; and when I'm fasting in Ramadan I must gulp down 2 or 3 pints of water prior simply to survive the day (food wise when fasting, I eat a moderate meal prior to fast and another to break it with no snacks-significantly less food than I do normally. Last Ramadan I lost half a stone (7 pounds)).
I just wanted to ask what it entails, and if any of you are willing, to say why you do it?
