--NPN Identification, making it Simple--Edited
Hi Ya'll,
For those interested in being able to Identify if the foods they are eating contain NPN. there is a Simple test one may do !
It requires a Refractometer !
With the use of a Refractometer and some Juice from the Fruit or Vegetable in question we may learn if it contains NPN !
When the Brix Test Line is Sharp NPN is present !
When the Brix is Low with a Sharp Line then there may be Lots of NPN !
When the Brix is High with a sharp Line there may be some NPN, but it is not as much a problem as when the Brix is Low !
When the Brix Line is Fuzzy, this means there may be the least amount of NPN !
When the Brix is High with a Fuzzy Line this may mean the Best Quality Fruit or Vegetable to eat !
Edit: What may Cause the Line to be Sharp when NPN is present?
NPN is Free Nitrogen which has not yet been able to Complex into True Protein, which True Protein would be bound with the needed Alkaline Minerals, but the NPN is still Acidic because of the lack of needed Alkaline Minerals !
This Nitrogen(NPN) may be Acidic when it has not been able to Complex with the needed Alkaline Minerals, thus leaving the food Acidic because of this Excess Free Nitrogen !
It is the Excess Nitrogen Acids which may Cause the Brix Line to be Sharp !
If there were enough Calcium & Magnesium and other needed Alkaline Minerals they would be able to cut this Excess Acid and the Brix Line would be Fuzzy !
Cause and Effect !
