So what happens to those that don't buy insurance - say, they are in a car accident. Do we not treat them? What about the kids in the back seat - do we fix that broken leg, sew up the gash in the arm, or do we let them lie there?

The "mainstream media matrix" rarely reports the problems and horrors of socialized medicine that have occurred in other countries.  Socialized medicine would not abolish problems, it would create a new set of them.  Our current medical system has been damaged for decades anyway.  Instead of attempting to tinker with its underlying structure, the statists wish to abolish it in order to give government more power.  I would advise you and others to be cautious and excercise prudence if you are seeking change.
