virus problems and firefox crashing

Yesterday both of my computers got infected by a virus and I am not sure if that is the big one expected tomorrow or another one. My neighbors had the same problem.

So I go and have a new program installed, of course loosing everything. Today firefox has crashed four times. Is this a software problem or part of this virus?

Anyone know?
