I very much agree. To me I like to have basics in place first - a good, organic diet that works for you and then start adding things to that to see what you get.
If you do not have a fairly clean base, it is very hard to determine what could be a contributing factor to your symptoms.
Working a lot with animals I find that they tend to be healthiest when they eat a species specific diet. In other words, eat what they were meant to eat. I believe humans are no exception.
I recently had a severe adrenal fatigue flare up because I increased my Iodine intake by too much. However, that also prompted me to cut out all sugar, coffe and tea. I do believe this helped me stabilize faster and now I can take it one step at a time to determine what my body actually needs. I have since started blending organic fresh fruits and greens and only eat lean proteins anymore. So far so good :-)
