Thank you Alex - it is my little miniature pony who is prone to developing Syndrome X, or what we call insulin resistance (IR) in horses :-)Now, after finding this forum I bet there's even more that I can do for him rather than just tightly controlling his diet to low non-structural carbs. IR horses also do very well with magnesium supplementation btw!

Thanks everyone for your help. I did not sleep well last night, but am doing pretty good today. I actually trimmed 5 horses today. Although it took me longer because my energy is low, I still got them all done and feel OK :-)

I do have a product Ionic Fizz with magnesium that I have been taking as often as needed and it seems to work well.
