You know, I'd be careful about ending them for incidental things like that - ending the friendship may be unneccesary. People might have one random wierd quirk that seems little or seems big but that you may somehow interpret to mean they don't give a snit about you. Yet the quirk may have nothing to do with you.

Maybe the chocolates friend really just had something about gift-giving. It's possible - some religions won't sign birthday cards b/c they don't celebrate birthday but they still care about their friends.

The test is more how the relationship is overall. Does she treat you with respect as a person and do you have fun together? That's all you need to know!
