Hair growth on chin. Hormones?

I have had cysts on my ovaries (found by ultrasound) I've had blood taken that showed at one time that I had a hormone imbalance, then I've had the same blood check and it shows no imbalance. Meanwhile I have had cystic Acne since puberty, painful, heavy periods, now I've had hair growth on my chin that seems to get more and more hairs coming in. I will be getting laser treatment for my chin, but my main question is... Is it possible this is hormone related? My periods, although painful and heavy, are always on time. I can set a clock by them.

If it isn't hormonal then what could it be? If it is hormonal, is it too much estrogen, testosterone, or some other hormone?

I'm 35, I've had 2 children, boys, now 7 & 8.5 yrs. old. I have high cholesterol and my gall bladder removed (low ejection rate) and a high risk of colitis (hereditary & a stressed colon), but so far everything is working good and my health is good. I was on birth control before kids and it helped my hair growth and cystic acne, but haven't been on it since. With everything going on with birth control it's hard to think about taking it again.

Any help here would be appreciated. I see my OB this tuesday and think I may get some blood work done to see if I can find anything else.

Thanks in advance for any help from anyone.
