Re: Scalp Staph Folliculitis and I shaved!

My redness lasted a very long time, and is still fading. After 3-4 months, I still had big red marks (not really scars) where the spots had been.

But since then, they have faded, and now, you can hardly see them. It's just a matter of patience, and realising that in the long term, the appearance will improve greatly.

For the first 2 months, I changed my razor blade very regularly, about every 3 shaves, to minimise re-infection, and to get the cleanest shave possible.

I followed thet other guys' advice in this forum, and used (and still use) isopropyl alcohol to clean blades and my scalp, although I don't use it as regularly on my scalp now, because it dries up my forehead skin badly.

Also, I recommend the strongest Manuka Honey you can buy (I think th grade is 30+). It helps immensely to stop the infection, and you will see immediate results. I put in on infected areas, then wore a cap.

Sounds like you're doing well :)
