Hello 1mia,

Chlorine dioxide gas is yellow-green in color and reddish at very high concentrations. Sodium chlorite releases chlorine dioxide when its PH is lowered by the addition of acid. The yellow color is chlorine dioxide gas in water.

A solution with a concentration of 1 PPM has almost no odor or color.
