Contradictory statements about PCOS - help me understand please
I have been told by one OB-gyn that I have PCOS. With a second opinion I was told I don't have PCOS. No insulin resistance. Day 2 showed 10 follicles <10mm on left and right ovary and none >10mm (not sure if that is good or bad)
Just extremely tired adrenals and hypothyroid. The PCOS list of symptoms including acne, hair loss, fatigue co-incides with the adrenal issues list - oh great!!
I am pasting below disparate statements I have come across on websites (not just any) - very confused.
- PCOS is incurable. Women have to live with it. For hair loss and
Acne help, birth control pills are prescribed. For fertility many options are available (is it really true that PCOS cannot be fixed? Has anyone done so naturally - with what protocol?
- PCOS means high estrogen and not enough progesterone (but my progesterone is normal and estrogen is low - I was put on estrogen supplementation which made my hair loss terribly worse :((
- Women with low estrogen are at risk of osteopororis (another site attributes that to low progesterone!!)
- soy and phytoestrogens should be avoided by women with PCOS (is that true? the list of phytoestrogens contains some very common foods I consume daily!!)
Thank you for reading...
