I know to a lot of you it may seem like I'm super slow at catching on. Even though I had seen posts about side effects of the Mirena and Norplant being similar, I never looked up Norplant. I had no idea that it uses the same exact drug. Because we know that it is systemic it makes sense that the side effects would be the same. Has anyone made this connection to their doctors? Whenever I tell a doctor about the Mirena they say it's so new and there are no studies they can find. I'm sure going to be telling all of my doctors now that it's basically the same thing as the Norplant and that 50,000 women sued the makers of that because of side effects and it's not available in the U.S. anymore. Has anyone done this? I'd be surprised if the doctors don't take more notice. I've had a few doctors willing to help, but they just can't find any write ups done by other doctors to give them any insight.
