Doctor David Williams comments on
the many dangers of acidosis.
To all my Friends on CureZone:
Doctor David Williams is one of the top two
or three alternative health physicians in
this country, and probably in the world.
I've learned many things worth knowing from
Doctor Williams, and I trust him implicitly.
Last week, I received a Special Report from
him that was, as usual, illuminating. I'd like
to share with you some of his comments about
chronic acidosis; how decades of acidity will cause a human body to break down in a large number of ways, including osteoporosis and
arthritis. Let me open with a quote from
Doctor Williams:
"When your body is too acidic, the body tries
to get rid of the excess acid by excreting it
with the urine and feces and through the sweat
glands. As a last-ditch effort, your body
steals valuable minerals, including calcium,
from your bones and muscles to neutralize the
acid."
"This happens day after day, year after year,
until one day, you have a bone density test, and
your doctor says, 'You have early osteoporosis.'"
And here's the quote that jumped out at me:
"In 20 years, you can silently lose over a pound of calcium, just be being too acidic.
That's the total amount of calcium in one of
your legs."
That would certainly explain the plague of
hip fractures that take place in the USA each
year. One-third of all patients in nursing
homes are there because of hip fractures.
Half of those people die within the first year. There are now more than 2.3 million hip
fractures every year, world-wide. Men have a
better chance of breaking a hip, than they do
in contracting prostate cancer. Women are
more likely to break a hip than they are to
develop breast, uterine, or ovarian cancer.
If you're 60 years-old, and you've been eating
the SAD diet all your life, you've lost 3
pounds of calcium that your body needs for
you to function normally. If you have back
pain that nothing will help, frequent muscle
aches and cramps, or just a feeling of heavy
legs, chances are very good that you're suffering from chronic acidosis.
What do do? First, you must stop doing what
has been hurting you. The main source of
chronic acidosis in western countries, is
an eating regimen filled with animal products.
The average American eats a diet that contains more than 60 percent meat, dairy,
and other animal products. You can get away
with that for years, even decades, but eventually, your body breaks down. I know
a slew of people who are my age (65) and
younger. whose lives have been completely
derailed by broken hips and legs; people
who are in pain all the time; pain which
no medications will help.
The first thing you need to find out is what
your pH is: the ration of acidity to alkalinity in your body. Moreless and other
helpful posters on this forum, have written
about this extensively. Here's a quick summary:
The pH scale ranges from the most acidic value of 0 to the most alkaline value of 14.
Pure water has a neutral pH of 7. Since our
bodies are mostly water, our own pH, if we
want to be healthy, should be close to 7.
Most experts agree that a slightly alkaline
pH of 7.1 to 7.45, provides our bodies with
conditions that lead to optimum health.
So the first thing you need to do is find out
what your pH is. You can buy an inexpensive
packet of Hydrion Papers in many drug stores,
and all health food stores. They will cost you around $6.00.
First thing in the morning, tear off a 2-inch
strip of the yellow paper. Then spit in a clean saucer. Stick half of the paper in the
saliva. The paper will change colors, usually
a shade of green. Now match the color of your
test-strip, with the color chart on the box.
That will be your pH level.
Repeat this morning ritual seven days in a row. If you tend to be under 6.5 consistently,
you're definitely too acidic. You have acidosis.
After that, it's a matter of banishing
acid-causing foods and drinks from your diet.
A number of the regulars on this forum have
posted lists of common acid-forming foods,
and alkalizing foods. Suffice to say for now
that all meat, fish, cheese, bread, pasta, colas, alcoholic drinks, coffee and other
caffeinated drinks, artificial sweeteners,
refined
table salt , tobacco, and practically
all drugs, cause acidity in the body.
That's a formidable list of popular foods.
But don't despair! I don't eat, drink, or use any of those products, and I don't miss them
at all. And there are many, many vegetarians
on CureZone who have also banned the most
toxic food and drinks from their diets. You
can do it too. You don't have to eliminate
EVERY acid-forming food. I eat oats, pumpkin
seeds, dried coconut, and organic yogurt,
all of which produce some acidity. But I
balance that by eating alkalizing foods like
garlic, almonds, lettuce, lemons, citrus fruits, and green veggies. The main thing is
to completely cut out the animal foods.
Too much animal protein is a surefire recipe
for disaster.
So get yourself some test strips, and have fun with them! If you're severely acidic, take
it as a wakeup call. Your body wants you to
do what's best for it. Trust your intuition,
and put yourself on the Healing Path.
Blessings,
Owen
