is it true??? sure hope not

Well, I've have major sinus problems so I've been using Afrin sinus spray with Eclipse gum and it works like magic but now my sinus congestion is worse than ever! Is it because of the sinus spray???? My cousin said sinus spray makes it worse. This is hell for me right now cause I really can't breath through my nose. The only thing that helps other than the spray is walking around but I want to go to bed soon so I'll have to break down and take the spray and chew the gum just to clear my nose to sleep.
Hope someone can help me out with this.
