From what I have read you don't have to worry about damage to the brain if you stay below 130 to 140 degrees.

Sherry Rogers M.D. in her book "Detoxify or Die" says you really don't need to go past 120.

Of course the amount of heat a person uses is related to whether you are just starting out, your blood pressure, health. age, etc.

I usually set mine at 130 degrees.

Good book BTW, if you haven't already read it.
