Hi
I am new on here. I have a question and can't seem to find any information on this.
I have a family member who is an alcoholic. He does not eat proper ( usually a sandwich per day) he smokes a pack of cigarettes per day.
He has been admitted to hospital. He was admitted because he was confused and he was not making any sense. We thought it was a stroke. He has had tests done and no stroke.I have been told he is being treated for alcohol dependence. He has been in hospital for a couple of weeks, and still seems to get confused easily( he was not like this prior to being admitted).
I have been online trying to find information on alcohol and brain damage. I don't seem to come up with anything. I want to know if alcohol can cause this damage. I am wondering if he might be misdiagnosed.
