Nothing unusual

Dead satellites and debris from spacecraft survive re-entry every day. It isn't a conspiracy. Consider that the Earth's surface is 2/3 water, and many land areas are sparely populated or not populated at all.

The tremendous heat generated by friction of the atmosphere burns most re-entry objects up completely, or if something survives all the way to the Earth's surface, it is usually very small. So, if an object is large enough to do damage, and actually lands somewhere where people know about it, it seems very unusual.
