Open source may be a good investment for the future... people are getting tired of paying for software without guarantees it will work properly... not that Open Source always does, however, it does not come with the burden of cost.

It could change the web too... IE centric sites would have to become more accessible to non-IE browsers... but then advertisers will not like it due to the ability to turn off adds or use a text only browser.
