Re: barf, and the runs
Hi awakened,
Did you make a sudden switch to the cooked food? Sometimes this causes diarrhea. Try to go back and introduce the cooked diet little by little. This should make all the difference.
Also, his meals should consist of a variety, such as beef, turkey, chicken, and pork (but be careful with pork it gives some dogs "the runs").
Raw bones will not hurt. Cooked bones are the ones in question. Bones provide calcium that is very necessary in a dog's diet.
The following is a list of vegetables found in A Natural Anti-Cancer for Dogs (and other pets) by Tony Isaacs. http://www.curezone.com/forums/fm.asp?i=1359343#i
They are: broccoli, spinach, celery, bok choy, carrots, capsicum, cabbage (red and green), collards, turnip greens, summer squash (zuchini and crook neck), chinese cabbage, parsley and kale.
Avoid: grapes, raisins, avocado, onions, green peas, potatoes (except small amounts of yam), asparagus, plums, pineapple, rhubarb, tomatoes, black cherry, lima beans, corn and other grains. Just as a note: Grapes, raisins and avocados are toxic to dogs and onions are toxic to both dogs and very toxic to cats.
Hope this helps.
