Homeopathics deal with the law of similars. The over simplified and dumbed down explanation is that something that is toxic to the body can be diluted to such an extent that when it is (re)introduced, it can, in a sense, strenghen you, or build immunity. Although this is not a perfect analogy, most people have heard of snake handlers exposing themselves to small amounts of venom, which they slowly increase over time, in order to build up immunity. I personally have been on a homeopathic derived from a parasite, which one would never want to ingest as is.
