Could be ammonia related, but if you have any kind of infection in your body, there be be increase of cells that smell when degraded. The byproducts are usually secreted from sweat glands esp. where skin pores are large. Favorite areas tend to be scalp, underarms, hands and feet.
Some chemicals will make their way to saliva glands to be secreted in mouth, where they are swallowed to be converted and broken down by stomach acid. Nitrate and nitrites will take this route. Shroom
