Amalgam removal detox

Dear All,
Following an excruciating removal of 12 Amalgam fillings last week my homeopath prescribed chlorella, selenium and mercurius corrosivus. I feel comforable taking chlorella and selenium but I am not so sure about mercurius corrosivus. I understand that it is a form of mercury and is used in homeopathy with the principle of fighting like with like. Has someoneelse ever been prescribed mercurius corrosivus for mercury detox with posivitve results?
