Any kind of laxative will work. However, Epsom salt, (magnesium sulphate) in addition to its laxative properties will relax muscle tissue, therefore it's thought that this might also relax the bile ducts. However, any kind of magnesium will do this. If you don't like the taste of the epsom salt, you can just take a 1000mg- 2000mg of a magnesium supplement. Or, a magnesium based laxative such as milk of magnesia. I've taken a magnesium supplement for my last two flushes and it seems to work just as well as the epsom salt.
