"Naked" short sales is a redundant term. Short sales sare by their very nature "naked" and have been around since before my time.

They are were used as a hedge in a butterfly strategy, but they are also used (and have been) for speculaltion.

If someone wants to go after your company and they want to short sale it has always been an option. Remember if it goes the other way which was possible when the market or an indivdual stock could and would rally- then the option expires.

I'm guessing a lot of Conspiracy theorists are thinking that this is a new game in town and generally speaking the banks, the military, and the markets have all been not exactly abover board.

The apple pie, and God and Country while running somewhere in the background as the forground probably was just for the average Joe, and have never been applicable for the orgsand persons who would like an certain outcome.

Perhaps it was necessary to become so over bloated with fraud and intrigue until the next era
