Let me use your statement to make my point. "to continue the growth - one must shine that light on darkness and the growth comes from your light not dimming from the interaction."
Ok, in my way of thinking, this is a very personal journey. My light grows because of that personal journey. We share our time, love with many different people in the course of our lives.
Why should I leave out my neighbors and not expose them to my light? Is it only for me? Isn't it to be used for the greater good of mankind?
The children's song... "Hide it under a bushel...No!...I'm gonna let it shine."
What better place than at church where some people come searching for answers because they don't have enough of the light to find their way.
I don't believe in just using that light to find my own path but to better the world.
Music can also speak love when my words can not say enough.
"Pass It On"
It only takes a spark to get a fire going
And soon all those around can warm up in the glowing.
That's how it is with God's love
Once you've experienced it,
You spread His love to everyone
You want to pass it on.
