Re: How to make an herbal suppository?
i think going in the back door carries risks and should be considered an heroic measure. it can be a lifesaver.
the end-o-the-line of the GI tract is designed for reabsorbing water. this means that anything put in there should be in a water base or water soluble and be in water to be absorbed. i have used liquid suppositories with a certain amount of success. one of the things i was most impressed with was how much better glutathione and coQ10 and B12 is absorbed this way.
i think you would need a decoction or some other herbal extract as opposed to the herbs themselves.
also, the colon and rectum are positively charged so that positively charged particles, like colloidal silver, are not likely to be absorbed there. there is, however, the topical application to the tissues immediately exposed, so that can be considered as well.
as a means of getting the benefit from herbs, suppositories dont seem very efficient with questionable efficacy. but, i am all for experimenting! let us know what you come up with.
