There are a few tests your doctor can do. There is a salivary cortisol test which is probably the best test as it tells you your cortisol levels during diffrent parts of the day. There is also a 24 hour urine test which tests your cortisol levels over a 24 hour period. In my opinion this test can be deceiving because a lot of people with adrenal fatigue have high cortisol at night but not when they should during the day. I live in Virginia and have seen a couple of doctors in Maryland that could help you with your condition. One is Janine Blackman (Bethesda) who works with chinese medicine and herbs and initially gave me my saliva test. Another is Alan Weiss (Annapolis) who used to work with Dr. Teitelbaum and is more into conventional medicine. Both, however, are expensive and do not take insurance.
