I have no personal experience with this kind of thing, but I remember a college friend had a situation with her tonsils - her doctor told her it had something to do with just the way her particular anatomy was shaped - that they tended to trap little bits of food in the back of her throat, she had to press them out with a Q-Tip periodically, and she said the stuff that came out smelled absolutely awful. Now, that was a regular M.D. who probably knew nothing about parasites, etc., and who knows what was really going on back there, but if that information is at all helpful, I thought I would pass it along.
