I was wondering...

Ok I've been diagnosed with genital herpes with a swab test. I'm not in denial and won't refuse to believe it but can Herpes Zoster (shingles) cause me to be positive? I was only 18 or 19 when I got shingles which sucked ass. The very first time I got blisters was after I shaved my pubic region. I got some ingrown hairs and then they became itchy. I scratched it nice and hard and it became small blisters. I thought nothing of it. It was never painful at all and they were clear blisters. Never did I have a painful discharge and it should have been my very first outbreak. I showed my doctor and she said it's probabaly not genital herpes but I told her to take a swab test. She told me I was positive. Is it possible that having had shingles I could have tested postive for HSV 2 as well? I also had cold soars when I was a kid inside of my mouth.
