I know what they did, they respected evolution
I know what they did, they respected evolution.
We have shown major disrespect to the evolution by allowing sick to survive.
What happens when you disrespect natural selection?
You destroy genes. Genes are what makes us what we are.
For the last 1 - 2 hundreds of years, humans have been better and better in curing sick children, and in preventing childhood illness.
What happens when you allow those who are naturally weaker to survive?
You also allow them to reproduce. You also allow their genes to live into the next generations. An they spread their "not as perfect" genes, and they mix their "not as perfect" genes with those who's genes are "better".
The result?
Genes of the whole human population become "weaker". Humans become "weaker".
Weaker human can not live as long as human with "stronger" genes.
Why do we have an epidemic of Autism, Diabetes, Cancer, Arthritis, Eczema, Asthma, Allergies, etc (you name it).
Yes, we do live in a different world, more toxic world, more stress, but that is not the whole story.
From the time we invented insulin therapy, we allowed diabetics to live to the reproductive age. The result is: every few years there are more and more children born, children who will develop Diabetes Type I.
And, the percentage of those with Diabetes keeps growing.
The same is happening with our immunity to viruses, bacteria, parasites.
Every time a child is cured form a life threatening illness, cured by
Antibiotics , or some other medications, that is one more person ready to spread his/her genes further. And, form one today, we may have 2 or 5 tomorrow.
And from 2 or 5 tomorrow, in 100 years we may have over 1000 people with those genes. Genes unable to survive infection without
Antibiotics .
Genes do play a major role in your health, and we have done everything that is in our power to weaken our genes.
In nothing else have we invested as much money, as much energy and as much brain power then in making sure that genes of those who are weaker live up to the reproductive age.
It was our choice.
We knew the consequences (or did we ever think about the consequences).
But, we still made that choice.
And, if you ask any parent today, he/she would most likely make the same decision.
We just have to live with it!
