NOT dreaming of Someone

Hello,
I have a question about NOT dreaming of someone/something. It’s nothing really serious but has me rather curious. In my spare time I enjoy writing and drawing, painting. (Fantasy/ folklore genre)I’ve done this for the past decade. I’m a great artist and I illustrate my own writings. As long as I’ve been writing and painting I have yet to encounter any of my Characters in a dream? I can concentrate on one of them before bed, fall asleep and nothing… zero…, zilch. I’m nearly to the point of obsessed with the lead character of my present project, I’m surprised I haven’t created something on an astral plane due to my constant thinking about him. But in my dreams I don’t catch so much as a glimpse of him, any idea as to why? Could I be dreaming of him And not recall??
