Re: My First Water fast
Excellent, Michael! Here are some tips (I'm on Day 13):
1. NOTHING but water - no supplements because they interfere with the detox.
2. Make sure you have a definate nutritional plan for after the fast/refeeding.
3. Don't set a date to end the fast -- end it when you have an irresistable hunger unlike anything else you have experienced (generally on the day of your fast equal to your age, but if you are overweight it can be a little longer).
4. Don't plan on losing 2
pounds per day. The weight comes off quickly at the beginning due to the organs emptying out. One pound of fat is about 2,500 calories, so burning a pound a day is a reasonable expectation once you settle into the fast.
I'm not expert -- just a slightly educated novice. Chrisb1 has taught me many things, and maybe he'll chime in with some advice.
