Sad and tragic.

From my research theres no way I believe HIV is the sole cause of AIDS by itself it simply does not infect and kill enough immune cells - some would argue it isn't cytotoxic at all. In this respect Christine was absolutely correct.

But it is UNDOUBTEDLY a cofactor in developing AIDS along with variants of HHV-6 and other pathogens.

The AIDS denialists have their point - nobody has scientifically validated HIV(by itself) causes AIDS. But the major denialists have never said it's not involved with AIDS due to the high correlation.

In Gallos own words(1995):

THE AIDS ESTABLISHMENT SHOULD ADMIT THEIR HYPOTHESIS IS WRONG! THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR CHRISTINES DEATH IF ONLY THEY HAD ADMITTED THAT AIDS HAS MULTIPLE COFACTORS INCLUDING HIV AND RESEARCHED TREATING EVERYTHING AS A WHOLE SHE WOULD STILL BE ALIVE. THIS WOULD ALSO ANSWER THE DENIALISTS QUESTIONS ON HIV AND IT'S ROLE IN THE CAUSE OF AIDS.
