Re: HGH for Myotonic Dystrophy

Hey Mary-

Here's one on DHEA:

http://community.myotonicdystrophy.org/profiles/blogs/2272034:BlogPost:250

Neurology, Sept 2008- DHEA doesn't work.

And another on HGH:

http://www.knowhgh.com/index.php/human-growth-hormone-muscular-dystrophy

This states that results are mixed using HGH so doctors aren't wild about its use. Treating boys with Duchenne revealed that HGH interfered with insulin production, which put the children at risk of diabetes. A more recent study revealed that HGH caused the boys' hearts to enlarge but didn't make them any stronger.

Hope this helps.

Donna
