Home remedies for natural beauty

Home Remedies for Natural Beauty
by Sheryl Walters, citizen journalist

(NaturalNews) Everything you need for beauty may be right in your house. Your cupboards may hold all of the supplies required for a rejuvenating beauty cleanse. There are an abundance of safe and natural home remedies that can be used to combat many of the ailments that are keeping you from shining naturally.

Glowing Skin
For clear and glowing skin, make a paste of honey, porridge, and egg white. This can be used as a daily face cleaner, or for a luxurious face mask, massage into the skin with small, upward circles for 10 minutes and then leave on the skin for another 10-15 minute. Rinse with lukewarm water. This will loosen dead skin and blackheads. An exfoliating scrub can be made with sea salt mixed with olive oil. A little lemon juice can be added for a refreshing, cleansing scrub that will kill any bacteria. Mint juice with a pinch of turmeric powder may also be added to treat acne.

Vibrant Eyes
For swollen puffy eyes, use cucumber slices. Not only are they cool, they are also packed with silica, which is known to reduce inflammation. Chamomile tea bags can be put over the eyes to reduce dark circles. Remember that dark circles and puffy eyes can also be caused by food intolerances.

Bouncy, Shiny Hair
If you are experiencing straggly, lifeless hair, rub sodium bicarbonate into the scalp instead of shampooing. This will get rid of dead skin on the scalp. Afterwards, drench the hair in a concoction of egg yolk, olive oil, and the water that was used to boil your potatoes. Then wrap it in a towel and leave on for 30 minutes. Rinse off to discover your nourished bouncy locks. Add some fenugreek seeds, lime juice, or beet juice if dandruff is a problem.

Luscious Lips
Chapped or crack lips can be painful and keep you from looking your best. Use natural lip balms that won't suck the moisture out and avoid flavoured tooth pastes. Drink plenty of water. If you have an Aloe Vera plant, put some juice on your lips. Vitamin A is important repairing the skin and also boosting the immune system, which can also be a source of dry lips. Carrots, tomatoes and green leafy vegetables such as water cress and spinach are good sources of vitamin A.

No More Stinky Feet
Combine one part white wine vinegar to four parts water and soak your feet for 20 to 30 minutes for Athlete's foot. Sprinkle some bicarbonate of soda between your toes and rinse your feet after fifteen minutes. It is as effective as any expensive antifungal powder. You can even put a little bicarbonate of soda in your shoes.

Combat Warts
Garlic has been used successfully to treat warts. Rub a clove over the wart for as long as you can…perhaps while watching a movie. You can then bandage the garlic to your skin and sleep with it. Do this regularly until you see the wart fall off. The milky juice of fresh figs is another valuable remedy for warts. This juice should be extracted from the fresh, barely-ripe fruits and applied on the warts several times a day. The treatment should be continued for two weeks.

Say Goodbye to Cellulite
Add some coffee powder to your moisturizing lotion. Rub this paste on the areas with cellulite for at least one minute for each day. Use a body brush to increase blood circulation.
Essential oils of cedarwood, juniper, patchouli and rosemary are also effective to remove cellulite.
