While it is usually recommended that people wait from 12 to 16 weeks before getting a herpes IgG test like the HerpeSelect IgG, that is to ensure that a negative result will be reliable since by 16 weeks some 98% of infected people will seroconvert, that is have antibodies that the test detects.

Many newly infected people develop detectable antibodies much earlier. I'm aware of one case where a valid definite positive result was obtained at 3 weeks post infection.

I'm a little puzzled about the 120% report. IgG tests are not usually reported that way. Do you have the actual test result so you can tell us the name of the test and the numerical results?
