MIUD removal with D&C and Hysteroscopy

Hi all
I had my MIUD placed in 4/07 and have been having trouble ever since. I have been having discharge,really bad cramps and severe lower back pain. I have even had to go the ER because of the cramping and back pain. I went to my GYN/mid-wife and the mid-wife couldn't find my strings! She even looked with a ultra sound. She said to come back and let the doctor try. The doctor couldn't get it out in the office,I had to stop her it was hurting so bad that I almost puked. So now I have to go in 1/9/09 to have it surgically removed and they are going to do a hyseroscopy and D&C.

Has anyone else had this happen to them? What was your experience after the surgery and how long did you bleed? Are you still having problems with hurting in your lower back?

I am so shocked at how many other people have had problems with this thing. If I had known all of this I wouldn't have gotten one to begin with. The only reason I did in the first place was I can't use any other birth control.I had just had a miscarriage and was scared to get pregnant again. I needed time to grieve and I was afraid that if I got pregnant again that I would loose it again. So I let my doctor talk me into the MIUD, big mistake!!!!
