Answer: Just Mulch with the Grass, leaves etc !

Keep it piled high enough that the mulch keeps the soil from drying out and provides a home and food for the Microbes and other Soil Life and they will move in and set up house keeping automatically !

There was a book written by Ruth Stout called No Work Gardening where she just learned to mulch, because she could not do all the digging etc, so she learned to just mulch and pull back the mulch to plant in ! One may find this as a used book?
