I have been diagnosed with MvP And I want to play basketball

Hi, I was just diagnosed with mitral valve prolapse about a month or 2 ago. My Dr. put me on a beta blocker and made me do a treadmill. Even though i was on the medicine my heart was beating about 100 times a minute just sitting down and over 200 while slowly jogging. Is this normal? Also, I want to play basketball this yr. My Dr. said that It would be good for me but im still a little scared that i will die on the court. could someone tell me if they think it would be okay for me to play. She also says that I may outgrow this. Is that possible?
