Bowel cleansing dissed by Newsweek

I've been reading this forum for a few weeks to help me with my fasting program, but I haven't posted anything, so hello all. I thought y'all might be interesting in this excerpt from Newsweek, January 27 2003, page 56. It is from the article "Father Where Art Thou?", detailing the abusive upbringing of young Lee Malvo and all the ways that people, and especially 'Sniper' John Muhammad, turned him into a cold-blooded killer.

"Muhammad took over Lee's life in every way, feeding him with as many as 70 pills a day, food supplements of various kinds, and something called Great Plains Bentonite Detox, which uses an active ingredient of "cat litter" to "detoxify" one's bowels. Lee grew increasingly submissive, as well as handy with a rifle."

Sounds like a recipe for murder, huh?
