New Wave Enviro Products has a counter top water filter that puts out a very good tasting water. I have seen this at my local Health food store for $99. I found a website that has a picture of it and sells it for the same price http://www.smartbomb.com/new001.html We acutally just got the shower filter and have used it for 2 mornings now, the water smells cleaner!

We have a Sears water distiller the new model is about 18 inches wide by 12 inches deep and sits on the counter all the time. We love the water and have used it with well water when we lived in the country and well as with the city water where we live now. I have considered getting one of those counter top units as there is conflicting reports out there about drinking only distilled water.
